Tainted Food Makes Headlines Again

Major media outlets in the US are reporting yet another outbreak of salmonella, this time linked to fresh produce – raw tomatoes to be precise. So far about 170 people in 17 states have become ill (and from the descriptions in the media, the health effects sound quite unpleasant, if not deadly). This is not a new story and could happen to any food producers.
