Lawson Software Launches India Office, Expands Asia-Pacific Footprint

New operations in India bring Lawson's industry-specific solutions closer to customers and partners in Asia South

NEW DELHI, India, Aug. 11, 2008 – Lawson Software today announced its expansion into the Asia South market with the opening of a new office in India. The global provider of enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions and applications has set up the New Delhi office as part of its strategy to build its presence in the region and to attract additional regional partners to better serve customers.

This new office will be headed by Kamal Sharma, who is the newly-appointed regional head of Lawson India and Asia South.

The St. Paul, Minn.-based company has served customers and partners in targeted industries including fashion, food and beverage, and manufacturing in Asia for more than 10 years. Lawson has more than 400 customers in Asia and is planning to expand its customer base in the rapidly-growing economies of the Asia South region including India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan.

Lawson currently has offices in China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, SingaporeJean, Taiwan and a related facility in Thailand.

The company, which is already serving customers in India and Sri Lanka through partnerships with Symphony Services and ETP International, plans to draw on the expertise of more local partners and provide sales and marketing support via its India office. The new office also underscores Lawson’s focus on growth in the region along with its commitment to customers and partners in Asia-Pacific.

“We are very excited with this latest opportunity to expose Lawson’s proven and established global business even further to our customers in India. We look forward to replicating our success stories in other parts of Asia to India, where we believe there is high demand for Lawson’s simplicity-driven solutions,” said David Hope, vice president and regional managing director, Lawson Asia Pacific.

The opening of the India office will bring Lawson and its industry-specific enterprise software closer to customers in Asia South, particularly mid-tier companies including those in the food and beverage, fashion, and distribution industries.
