More Than 80 Organizations Use Lawson Learning Accelerator for Employee Training
Innovative Lawson offering provides customized instruction for ERP systems, helps improve worker productivity
ST. PAUL, Minn., May 22, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Lawson Software (Nasdaq: LWSN) today announced that more than 80 organizations worldwide have chosen Lawson Learning Accelerator to train staff on Lawson software systems. Introduced in March 2007, Lawson Learning Accelerator allows organizations to create customized, role-based training simulations and documentation to help effectively train and introduce employees to new software systems and capabilities. Lawson Learning Accelerator also serves as a repository for training information, which can help staff members access information when they may need a refresher on doing specific tasks within their software applications.
The Carpentersville School District in Carpentersville, Ill., and Owensboro Medical Health System in Owensboro, Ky., are among the many organizations that have begun to reap the benefits of Lawson Learning Accelerator. The Carpentersville School District uses the system to help train its 3,000 full- and part-time employees on various processes within their Lawson applications. The district is also planning to use the Lawson learning solution to develop and share software-based trainings on non-Lawson applications that are used to manage student scheduling and attendance information.
"We are constantly adding staff, so it's a challenge to ensure everyone is trained in a timely manner. We also know employees need flexibility to do training on their own time and at their own pace," said Dr. Cheryl Crates, chief financial officer, Carpentersville School District. "We tried Lawson Learning Accelerator and it made it easy for us to cost-effectively train our employees on our software system."
The Owensboro Medical Health System implemented Lawson Learning Accelerator to help its 2,700 employees get up-to-speed on how to use the various business modules within the hospital's Lawson software system.
"Prior to Lawson Learning Accelerator, we had all of our training information in binders," said Michelle Lashbrook, information systems training coordinator, Owensboro Medical Health System. "We literally had to type up the training instructions, print them out, distribute them and ensure people had the most up-to-date copies. Learning Accelerator made this process so much simpler - it's so easy to take screen captures and post them with the current training information online, reducing the time and resources we need to develop and maintain training materials."
Like many organizations, these Lawson customers have an increasing number of employees who need to access and work with information within their business software system. Lawson Learning Accelerator helps reduce the complexity of an organization's training and development program with streamlined end user training and documentation. In addition, Lawson Learning Accelerator helps streamline learning by focusing on the specific skills a person will need for their specific role or job function.
Organizations can quickly get up and running with Lawson Learning Accelerator through the Lawson Learning Accelerator JumpStart Program. Designed to involve all key Lawson Learning Accelerator trainers right from the start, the three-part JumpStart Program is an education curriculum that helps ensure effective adoption of Learning Accelerator, set positive expectations and productive timelines, and maximize an organization's software investment.
