During the master scheduling process, you need to evaluate production schedules with regard to resource requirements and capacity before making any final scheduling decisions. You can best perform these evaluations through rough-cut capacity planning.
M3 Rough-Cut Capacity Planning (RCP) enables you to identify potential bottlenecks that may disrupt your master schedule. You can also use M3 RCP as a basis for planning production capacity and the use of long-range resources. This planning can be based on forecasts, master demand schedules and production schedules.
