This four-day course aims to help you understand how to effectively use Lawson M3 to configure and support your financial accounting processes.
Why Should You Attend?
By the end of this course you should be able to:
- Understand the benefits of flexibility, integration and multiple-unit coordination and understand how Lawson M3 handles different aspects of financial management and controlling
- Configure the M3 Financial Accounting module including number series, account codes, accounting dimensions, accounting rules for automated accounting, currencies, payment methods, customer and suppliers
- Perform daily, periodic and yearly routines, verify general ledger transactions, and monitor performance with help of balance keys and the balance file
- Process manual customer invoices and customer payments, manage customer debts, and print different types of documents for customer follow-up
- Process supplier invoices and perform basic invoice match to purchase orders, process manual and automatic supplier payments and monitor accounts payable.
What Does This Course Cover?
This course aims to demonstrate the main functions of the financial accounting department and how those functions are supported by Lawson M3, including:
- The application foundation, which includes the M3 modules, organizational structure, accounting dimensions and accounting identities
- Integration between the various Lawson M3 modules.

- The course includes the concepts and functions necessary to:
- Configure the financial accounting modules in Lawson M3
- Perform daily routines, periodic routines, verification, and monitor the General Ledger using the M3 General Ledger
- Manage customer invoices and payments, customer debts, and monitor Accounts Receivable using M3 Accounts Receivable
- Record supplier invoices, match supplier invoices against purchase orders, pay supplier invoices, and monitor Accounts Payable using M3 Accounts Payable.
Who Should Attend?
This course is designed for personnel that will work with financial accounting, who are either new to financial accounting or who require an overview/ refresher, and anyone who wants a basic understanding of business accounting and M3 Financial Accounting functionality.
To fully benefit from this course, we recommend that you have:
- A basic understanding of the Lawson M3 application and how to navigate in it
- A basic understanding of the process flows
- Successfully completed one of the Lawson M3 Learning Camps.
