Attribute Management Introduction (e)

This one-day course deals with what attributes and configured items are. The concepts of both will be explained, and we will particularly focus on the similarities and differences. In general an attribute is information that, together with the item number, gives more precise information on the specification of a specific article in the warehouse. In Lawson M3, they are translated in two ways: the Product Configurator uses features and drawing measurements, and Attribute Control uses attributes. Features, drawing measurements and attributes are all very similar. The main difference is that features and drawing measurements control the product structure, while attributes control the outcome in the warehouse and transaction history.

When to use which of these will be discussed using a business case as an example. The functionality emphasis, however, will be on attributes.

What Does This Course Cover?
This course aims to give you an understanding of:
· What attributes are
· What attributes can do in sales, inventory, allocation, production, purchasing and distribution
· How attributes are related to the Product Configurator, and understand when to use what
· The business value of the attribute functionality
· The required basic data and how to connect it to the processes mentioned above.

Who Should Attend?
Business consultants and end users who work within the manufacturing, product life cycle, purchasing and order fulfilment processes.

Since attribute management affects a lot of processes, the participant must have a basic understanding of one (but preferably more) of the following processes/sub-processes: sales, inventory, allocation, production, purchasing and distribution.
