Zakład Mebli Giętych Fameg S.A., established in 1890, produces frame furniture including classic, bentwood, and joinery. Until 1951, the factory was known as Thonet Brothers Bentwood Furniture Manufacturers. The company's main product line is bentwood furniture, accounting for about 50 percent of all sales in 1996. It holds the leading position in the Polish market for bentwood furniture with a market share estimated at 70 percent. The second largest group is wooden furniture. The company exports about 70 percent of its production, mainly to the United Kingdom, Sweden, and Germany. Sales to IKEA, Shelby, and MFI account for about 30 percent of total sales.
