Established in 1992, Wuxi Liutan Garment Co., Ltd. was built up from Wuxi Liutan Garment Factory—a township business with over 30 years of experience in the garment manufacturing industry. Over the past ten years, Wuxi Liutan has made a number of foreign investments and now owns many joint ventures. The company produces suit trousers, shirts, jackets, pajamas, knit clothes, clothes racks and parts for vacuum cleaners, which are mainly sold to Japan, America, Europe and Southeast Asia. Annual output from the group in 2002 was 15 million sets of clothes, with annual sales of USD 50 million. Wuxi Liutan is one of the top 100 enterprises in the garment industry in China.
