T. Skretting AS

T. Skretting AS is the world's largest single producer of salmon and trout feed. It is a subsidiary of Nutreco Aquaculture, which as a group supplies almost half of the total world market of salmon and trout feed. Skretting was founded in 1899 and began manufacturing fish feed as early as 1963. It is now dedicated to this activity.

Salmon farming and fisheries constitute Norway's biggest export industry after oil and gas, placing the Skretting Business Unit in a pivotal position. With the help of a strategically located sales force, the company's three plants - in Stavanger, Averøy and Stokmarknes - supply feed to salmon farmers along Norway's extensive coastline. Skretting also exports feed to salmon farmers in Sweden, Denmark and the Faroe Islands and has a licensing agreement for Nutreco fish feed production in Finland. Both the Nutreco Aquaculture Research Centre and the Nutreco Technology Centre are based in Stavanger.
