Sellafield Ltd is the company formed from the restructuring of the activities of British Nuclear Group (BNG) in July 2007, and is focused on the marketing of nuclear fuel services and nuclear clean-up activities. It operates from 18 facilities in the UK but its operations are centered on three major sites: Sellafield, Drigg and Risley. Sellafield is a very large remote site on the west coast of England where most of the operations to produce nuclear fuel and reprocess spent fuel are carried out. Over 80 percent of the workforce is based at Sellafield where there are 10,000
staff on site including 1,500 contractors.
