Lawson Software Launches Channel Partner Recruiting Initiative

Lawson focusing on channel partners in U.S. and Europe to expand reach of Lawson M3 applications

ST. PAUL, Minn., Nov. 8, 2010 Lawson Software (Nasdaq: LWSN) today announced it is launching a recruiting drive to expand its network of channel partners to sell and support the Lawson M3 Enterprise Management System. The company is focusing this recruiting effort on the United States and Europe to support its targeted industries for the Lawson M3 enterprise software system, including fashion, food & beverage, manufacturing & distribution, and equipment service management (heavy equipment dealers and rental operations). Lawson is particularly interested in channel partnerships to help cover geographies and specific sub-markets where it currently does not have a direct presence.

In support of this recruiting drive, Lawson has developed workable, profitable business models for the partner with revenue sharing opportunities connected with software licensing and services. Lawson is also committed to offering prospective partners a dedicated market space, simplified software offerings and a cooperative relationship with Lawson. Lawson channel partners do not compete with Lawson. Instead, Lawson creates partnership opportunities that allow the channel partners to be part of the Lawson business unit strategy.

“We see high-value channel partnerships as another avenue to help us provide a superior customer experience,” said Guy Leduc, vice president of Partners & Alliances for Lawson. “We want to align with partners that share our vision and our commitment to the specific industries we serve. In the case of the Lawson M3 product line, our channel partners will help us continue to build out our presence in the U.S. and Europe by focusing on the industry-specific needs of our prospects and customers.

Alfa-Beta Solutions is a long-time Lawson channel partner and works with a number of shared customers in the food & beverage industry. Based in the Netherlands, Alfa-Beta Solutions has seen continued growth by offering the Lawson M3 system combined with its own industry-specific experience and expertise with Lawson. Lawson recently presented Alfa-Beta Solutions with the 2010 Lawson Channel Partner of the Year award, and the company has achieved “Platinum Partner” status within the Lawson partner network. Platinum level status recognizes outstanding business performance and successful implementations by Lawson partners.

“The relationship we have with Lawson is a natural extension of our own capabilities and the value we can deliver to companies in the food & beverage industry,” said Frank Resink, managing director for Alfa-Beta Solutions. “Companies need software that meets their industry-specific needs, but they also need to work with the right vendors who truly understand the unique issues confronting their particular industry. Partnering with Lawson allows us to deliver that broader package of software and expertise. It’s a good model for everyone involved – the customer, Lawson and the Lawson partner.”
