Application of the Policies
It is Lawson’s policy that Lawson and its employees, temporary workers, consultants, independent contractors, business partners and other representatives in the Lawson community, worldwide, comply with all applicable laws and act fairly and in an ethical and proper manner. References to “Lawson” in this Code of Conduct include the parent company, Lawson Software, Inc., all of its branch offices, and all Lawson subsidiaries anywhere in the world. This Code of Conduct applies to all Lawson employees worldwide and to all temporary workers, consultants, independent contractors, business partners and our other representatives in the Lawson community, worldwide (unless a policy specifically states that it applies to Lawson employees only).
Lawson may modify this Code of Conduct at any time. Where applicable, nothing in Lawson’s policies or this Code of Conduct creates any contract or promise for continued employment or business relations with Lawson.
Violations of Lawson’s policies and this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment or termination as a consultant, independent contractor or business partner with Lawson. Lawson encourages you to ask questions and seek guidance as appropriate - from your supervisor or anyone on your management team, Lawson’s Human Resources Department, Lawson’s Legal Department or others designated by Lawson policy. Lawson requires that you do the right thing and always be accountable. Reasons such as “everyone does it,” “it is not illegal” or “the competition is doing it” are unacceptable excuses for violating our standards.
No set of policy guidelines can cover all situations you might encounter. When in doubt, please ask yourself:
-
Would my action inspire trust?
-
Is my action legal? If legal, is it also ethical? Are my actions honest in every respect?
-
Is anyone's health, safety or dignity endangered by this action?
-
Can I defend this action with a clear conscience before my supervisor, fellow workers and the general public?
-
Would I be proud to read about my action in the newspaper?
